PERRY PHARMACY, 1914. Main Street in 1914 was still a dirt road, with chickens and goats wandering on the empty lots between storefronts. Situated on the former site of Raynor and Bishop’s General Store (1880–1902), Perry’s sold pharmaceuticals and tonics, soda fountain concoctions, and the early postcards that have recorded much of Westhampton’s history. The pharmacy became Sheeley’s Drug Store in 1943 and is today a clothing store.

ECKART’S HAMPTON ICE CREAM PARLOR, 1930S. Originally a saloon called The Inside Out because of the shingled interior, Eckart’s was the 1911 creation of Jacob Eckart. As an ice cream parlor/luncheonette, the store became a hangout not only for high school students but also for area politicians and small groups of friends like the Boys from Booth Four, who gathered daily for breakfast at 7:30 a.m. for more than 20 years.
